Kansas City Senior Spotlight | Summer Senior Portraits of Aspen

Summer senior portrait of girl holding bouquet of pink and yellow flowers

It is no secret that I love my job! I absolutely love photographing seniors! Each new senior I meet inspires me in some way! It is exciting to get to know them, learn their story, and dreams for the future. Senior year is a monumental year. It is the end of one journey that leads into an exciting start to a brand-new one. Your senior year is also about celebrating YOU and your accomplishments, which is why senior portraits are my favorite. I love celebrating these young adults and designing their session to be a reflection of them and their individual personality. I recently had the pleasure of capturing Aspen’s summer senior portraits. I am thrilled to share her gorgeous images on this Kansas City Senior Spotlight!

Aspen is a sweet senior who is entering her senior year at Blue Valley Northwest High School! She keeps busy staying active and involved in sports such as football, basketball, track, and rowing. After graduating high school, Aspen hopes to go to Grand Canyon University, where she is considering studying sports management and sports psychology! She told that she is looking forward to having new experiences and meeting new people outside of Kansas City post-graduation. I have no doubt that Aspen will go on to do great things!

Aspen showed off her amazing style during her portraits by selecting the perfect outfits for her summer session.  I loved her black satin tank, white animal print skirt, and black heels! Her dressed-up, sophisticated look was perfect for her portraits around downtown.  After exploring some popular spots in Kansas city, we switched from a concrete jungle to a more nature inspired setting.

Aspen mentioned that she wanted to incorporate florals and open fields into her session. We made sure to check both of those items off with some fun pictures in an open field of her holding a lovely arrangement of pink and golden yellow flowers. She wore a beautiful purple dress with small white flowers that not only looked amazing, but fit the scenery perfectly.

Aspen’s favorite season is summer and with the extra time flexibility summer offers, we knew it was the best time to schedule her senior portraits! She loves being outdoors in the warm sunshine of summer. A summer session allowed us to capture images that better reflected Aspen and her personality.  This is the goal of every senior session I capture—I want every senior to have portraits that reflect their unique and individual personalities and interests!

Aspen, it was a joy to celebrate your accomplishments and document this important chapter of your life! Congratulations!
