3 Tips To Elevate Your Fall Wardrobe

When it comes to fall fashion, there are endless options to choose from! If you are planning for fall senior portraits here are 3 tips to elevate your fall wardrobe for your pictures!

3 Tips To Elevate Your Fall Wardrobe

First, the best way to instantly elevate your wardrobe is with LAYERS! Fall is the best time to include layers too as the temperature is crisp enough that adding another layer only makes you more comfortable as we explore the beautiful scenery outdoors.

options to layer and elevate your fall outfits

When dressing in layers, keep the following in mind:

01. Layer Lengths

Make sure your different layer pieces don’t end at the same line. You want the length of the layers to vary. Longer layers underneath shorter ones can create shape and elongate your body. On the other hand, shorter layers under longer ones can give you a super cozy fall look. Before heading into your senior pictures, take out a few of your favorite fall wardrobe pieces, and play around with different layer combinations to see which look you like best!

02. Complementing Colors

Whenever you select outfits, you want to make sure that the different shades and tones of your clothing are complementary and don’t clash too harshly. You can always play up your outfit with fun pops of colors and patterns or stay super chic with monotone shades that highlight each other. I also recommend taking into consideration the season! Warmer and deeper tones of colors photograph well against a fall backdrop. Think burgundy, burnt orange, mustard yellow, deep blues, warm tans, emerald green, and even dusty pinks.

03. Vary your Textures

Keep your layers interesting by using different textures in your outfit. Leathers can cozy up with suede and wool, while denim can be accented with linens and silks. A scarf or knee high boots are also perfect fall accessories that add a bit of texture and dimension to your photos, and create the perfect fall look!
