BFF session: Celebrate Your Friendship and Your Achievement

BFF session: Celebrate Your Friendship and Your Achievement

This years’ high school seniors have already walked across the stage and are currently preparing for the next chapter in their lives. As a Kansas City Senior photographer, I have the great pleasure of meeting several amazing seniors each year! When seniors look back on their high school years and beyond, one thing that most have in common is the deep friendships formed. For many, lifelong friendships are developed during their time at school. What better way to celebrate your friendship and your achievement of graduation than with a BFF Session!

Senior BFF Session

I started doing BFF sessions recently, and I absolutely love them! It is so fun to get a couple girls, or a group of friends together and have some fun, bond, and document their friendship.

This amazing group of girls have known each other since 8th grade! They all went to Pembroke Hill high school right here in Kansas City Missouri! On top of photographing them all together for their BFF session, I also had the privilege of capturing 3 of the girls' individual senior sessions! It has been such a joy to get to know each of them, learn their story, their future goals, and dreams! Seeing them all together laughing and reminiscing during their session made me smile. So much will change for these five girls over the next few months and years, but I hope their friendship isn’t one of them!

Cora was behind the Bff session, as she wanted to give her friends a session together and an 8x8 album for each of them to take to college!

It is a beautiful keepsake and a wonderful present that I know each girl will cherish as they begin a new chapter and head off in different directions. While the miles between them may be many, the thread of friendship will connect them to each other.

Downtown KC Best Friend Session

To start their BFF session, we headed to the Power and Light District, the heart of downtown KC. The girls wore white dresses to start, and we even had time to sneak in a few cookies!

Then it was time for them to change into their college shirts. Right as we were about to start shooting the second half of their session, it started raining! We didn’t let that stop us though. We found a big awning to stand under, and we were good to go!

I loved that they each wore their college shirts! These five friends will be spread out coast to coast with Cora, going to Arizona State University in pursuit of a business degree. Sarah will be traveling to NYC on a volleyball scholarship and to study business, as well. Gracie is headed to Wisconsin to study finance. Mary and Rita are twins who will also be going their separate ways, as Mary stays in KC to attend UMKC and study Biology and 6 year medical, while her sister Rita travels to PA to attend Villanova and major in Biology - 7 year dental plan.

These girls are going to go on to do amazing things! I hope that as they travel away from home and their friends, that this wonderful album highlighting their friendship with one another will give them comfort in knowing their friends are always there for them, even if hundreds of miles separate them.

Congratulations, ladies!
